Question:
As salaam alaikum
If an institute confiscate a phone or tablet etc from a student due to it not being allowed on campus, what rules in Islam apply to those items?
1) can the admin break them?
2) can they dispose of it?
3) can they sell it?
4) do they have to return it to the parents or students.

Bismihi Ta`ala
If the keeping of such items was against the rules of the institution and the student consented to it at the time of enrolment ,then it will be permissible for the institution to confiscate and dispose of the item.
And Allah Ta`ala knows best.
