The Hind Rajab Film:
The tragic story of Hind Rajab, a 6 year old innocent Palestinian girl who was murdered together with her family by the merciless Israeli soldiers brings immense pain and sadness to any human heart and exposes the brutality of the Zionist regime. The inhumanity of this calculated act portrays Israel’s systematic and indiscriminate targeting of innocent civilians in Gaza. May Allah Ta’ala deal with them appropriately in this world and the next!
Hind Rajab has become a symbol of resistance to the world and in this light a Movie was produced reliving her tragic story. As Muslims we have to understand that we cannot allow our intellect to be clouded by emotions. Raising awareness for the oppressed Palestinians is highly essential, yet true results and solutions cannot be reached through the medium of Haraam. Our path of life has been mapped out by the guidance left behind by our Master Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم.
The Palestinian Issue and particularly the war in Gaza is something close to every Muslims heart. The atrocities pain us and we eagerly anticipate the day of victory and freedom by the help of Allah Ta’ala. May Allah Ta’ala accept the sacrifices of every man, woman and child of Gaza!
Let us understand that a movie is a movie no matter the sensitivity of the content. As Muslims we cannot condone, promote, advertise, share statuses, sell tickets and be part of the Hind Rajab Film in any way whatsoever as this is tantamount to supporting sin. By doing so we will be transgressing against the commands of Allah Ta’ala – The Controller of the Universe.
Any Muslim will easily understand that this movie or any other movie will be accompanied by:
Music, Intermingling of genders, Islamically Inappropriate dressing, Missing Salaah with Jamaat or missing Salaah completely. As well as a host of other evils.
A cinema house will never attract the mercy of Allah Ta’ala and in the light of current events in our country as well as worldwide, we cannot afford to earn the anger of Allah Ta’ala.
An appeal is made to our Muslim community, businesses and humanitarian organizations that while our intentions may be good, let us not compromise the values of our Deen under the guise of Palestinian activism. Yes, we must do as much as we can in supporting the oppressed and raising awareness, however it should be done under the guidance of the Ulema within the framework of the Shariah. The boundaries of the Shariah are clear and the solution to all our problems is simply turning back to Allah Ta’ala completely.
Ponder over the following Ayah of The Quraan Kareem and Hadeeth of Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم:
وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
Help each other in righteousness and piety, and do not help each other in sin and aggression. Fear Allah! Surely, Allah is severe at punishment. (Surah Al Maaidah Verse 2)
مَن دعا إلى هدًى كان له من الأجر مثل أجور مَن تبعه، لا ينقص ذلك من أجورهم شيئًا، ومَن دعا إلى ضلالةٍ كان عليه من الإثم مثل آثام مَن تبعه، لا ينقص ذلك من آثامهم شيئًا
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their reward being diminished in any respect, and if anyone invites others to follow error, the sin, will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him (in sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect”. [Muslim].
Yes, undoubtedly we all have our faults and sin all the time, hence continuous Tawbah and Istighfaar are imperative in bringing down the mercy of Allah Ta’ala in our country and throughout the world. However, are we prepared to carry the sins of others on our shoulders by becoming promoters of sin?
Our Deen as mentioned by Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم is advice and well-wishing. Thus, it is incumbent on every Muslim to encourage towards goodness and advise our fellow Muslims to abstain from evil and wrong.
The one advising against sin should do it with sincerity, love, wisdom, concern and humility without ever thinking himself to be better than the one being advised. The one being advised should accept the advice with humility, appreciation, happiness and immediately correct the wrong. This will bring about an Ummah of strength, unity, obedience and draw the help and mercy of Allah Ta’ala in bringing about favorable conditions.
In conclusion, whoever has the capability to cancel this event should exhaust all means to do so. Sins, such as openly watching movies brazenly in public settings have a negative impact upon the entire community and distance us from the mercy of Allah Ta’ala and have a potential to bring down different calamities and misfortunes upon the entire locality.
Let the Men fill the Masaajid 5 times a day and let the women occupy their Musallahs 5 times a day. Increase in Istighfaar, Durood, Sadaqah, Tilaawah. Maintain Good Akhlaaq, honesty in dealings and kindness to all. Abstain from all forms of oppression and sin. Boycott Israeli products and the way of life of the Jews and Christians. Beg Allah Ta’ala for His help. In Sha Allah conditions will change.
May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the correct understanding of Deen, let us see the truth as truth and follow it. Let’s see falsehood as falsehood and abstain from it. AMEEN!
